Richard Nix
Richard Nix is the Division Project Coordinator. Richard's range of expertise includes rigging system design and installation, as well as several years as a stagehand and staff rigging supervisor. He is the author of several technical articles and has expanded his 3D knowledge into the realm of Building Information Modeling (BIM). Since the early 1990's Richard has participated in ESTA's standards development efforts, serving on task groups addressing certification, boom-base assemblies, fire curtains, and manual and motorized rigging. He has performed hundreds of rigging system safety evaluations, and has an intimate understanding of how these systems integrate with existing building structures.

Jeff Reder
Jeff Reder, P.E. joined the firm in 2002 and has a MS/BS Civil Engineering from Purdue University and is a member of American Institute of Steel Construction, American Society of Civil Engineers, and Structural Engineers Association. His recent experience includes ESPN® Summer/Winter X-Games, Wefest, NBA Jam, and Acquire The Fire/SBC Park.

Daniel Clark
Daniel Clark, P.E. joined the firm in 2000, has a BS Civil Engineering from University of Cincinnati and is active in the American Institute of Steel Construction and American Society of Civil Engineering. His seven years of experience include new stage rigging systems, fire curtains, portable roof systems, stage lifts and evaluations. He has worked on permanent rigging systems and structures for projects including the Granada Theatre – Santa Barbara PAC, San Francisco Observatory Variable Acoustics System, the Griffith Observatory, and the DSA project Cesar Chavez High School – Delano, CA.

Kyle Kusmer
Kyle Kusmer, P.E. joined the firm in 2003. He has a MS (2003) and a BS (1999) in Engineering from the University of Dayton. Kyle has extensive experience with permanent rigging systems for several California DSA projects including: Ronald McNair High School – Stockton, CA; LaDera Vista Junior High – Fullerton, CA; and Saratoga High School – Los Gatos, CA.

Dan Cunningham
Dan Cunningham, P.E.joined the firm in 2005, has a BS Architectural Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and brings years of experience in all forms of structural design. In his current position, Dan provides the structural design for traditional structures as well as tension grids, and temporary floor and roof systems. His expertise is as varied as our projects.

Roy Mead
Roy Mead, P.E. joined the firm in 2005 and has a BS Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton. Roy brings over thirty years of mechanical design and development experience to ESG. With a broad background in the design of platform lifts, power transmissions, linear actuators, and automation; he compliments the structural capabilities of the group. Recent design projects for ESG have been winch systems, stage lifts, and power transmission analysis.

Seth Nickol
Seth Nickol, E.I.T. works on a variety of project types: pipe grids, tension grids, and theatre rigging, all sorts. He is also one of our more experienced engineers when it comes to tension grids.
